How do you know which ink cartridge to buy?

Billy asked:
Is there different kinds of ink cartridges for just certain printers? Like, can I just go into office max or something and just buy any ink cartridge for my printer? If not, how do I know which one to buy?

Look at the empty ink cartridge in your printer, it will have a number on it. If you have the box the catridge was in, the number will be on the box.

Each manufacturer has it’s own style of cartridge and, within that, they have different sizes of cartridge for different models! It’s a nightmare, really!
What you need to do is to note down the Make and Model of your printer and the store will be able to supply you with the right ones from that information.

Look in the manual that came with your printer and find the ink cartridge numbers. They are specific to your machine and no other cartridge will work but these. If you can’t find the number of the ink Cartridge then take the model of your printer to Office depot and they will find it for you. I have an epson R220 printer and that is all the information I need to get a good office supplier to send me the correct cartridges. You can go to the printer manufacturers web site and click on your printer model and find it there as well. It isn’t at all difficult to determine what you need to buy.

Take out your old cartridge out and have the shop assistant
give you one the same.
But you also may be able to find the make and model on the printer and take that information to the dealer, and get a new cartridge.
Some stores have recycled cartridges, and these are almost as good as new, and you save some dollars, and help against global warming.
Good Luck.

remember the model number of your printer. Walk up tot he counter and ask for the cartridges for said printer.
You may also want to bring the cartridges with you. There are a few thousand different inkjet cartridges on the market and only 1 will work in your printer.
